On the campus of The Oaks of Louisiana in southeast Shreveport, construction is underway for an assisted living complex, Savannah at The Oaks, which is scheduled to open in the spring of 2011.
Three college professors are scheduled to present lectures at Live Oak during June. The lectures are part of Live Oak’s Insight & Understanding programs that offer lifelong learning opportunities for residents.

Senior athletes from Live Oak regained their top gold winning status at the at the 2010 Senior Olympics on May 5. Live Oak, a consistent gold medal winner between 2005 and 2008 had dropped a notch in 2009, but began a new winning streak with the 2010 gold medal.
Residents and their families as well as employees are invited to visit the MarketPlace at The Oaks for the shop’s Spring Open House on May 8, from 12 noon to 6 p.m. According to Catherine Romero, manager of the MarketPlace, the shop has some beautiful items that will please the most demanding shoppers.

The Oaks of Louisiana has published “Easy Living,” a 2010 calendar depicting scenes at the The Oaks and Live Oak, a senior residential community at 600 East Flournoy Lucas Road. From the bright reds of Christmas to the gray-green of icy winter, from the vibrant roses of summer to ducklings and their mother, the colorful photos depict life at the scenic location in southeast Shreveport.
